FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything people ask before their first StarkMeet call.

Is StarkMeet really free?

Yes. Every feature on the Free plan — HD video, screen sharing, chat, unlimited meeting length — costs nothing and requires no account. Paid Pro and Business plans are coming later for larger teams, but the free plan is here to stay.

Is it spelled StarkMeet or Stark Meet?

Both spellings refer to the same thing. The brand is written StarkMeet, but Stark Meet, starkmeet and stark meet are all common ways people search for the free StarkMeet meeting platform — you will find us either way.

Do participants need an account to join a meeting?

No. Whoever has the meeting link or code joins as a guest after typing a display name. Only the admin panel requires an account.

How many people can join a StarkMeet meeting?

Up to 12 participants per room. Video and audio flow peer-to-peer (WebRTC mesh), which keeps quality high and latency low at that size. Larger rooms arrive with the upcoming SFU-based plans.

Is StarkMeet secure and private?

Media is encrypted in transit using DTLS/SRTP, the standard WebRTC encryption. Calls flow directly between participants — StarkMeet servers only relay the connection handshake and chat. We do not record, store or analyze your calls.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Meetings run fully in modern browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari). The optional StarkMeet app for Windows just makes joining faster from the desktop.

Does StarkMeet work on phones and tablets?

Yes — mobile browsers can join meetings with camera, mic and chat. Screen sharing from mobile depends on your browser's support.

Can I share my screen during a call?

Yes, one click shares a window or your whole desktop to everyone in the room, alongside your audio.

What is the difference between StarkMeet and Zoom or Google Meet?

StarkMeet focuses on instant, frictionless meetings: no account walls, no trial timers, no watermarks — plus a native Windows app and an admin-managed download portal. It is built on ASP.NET Core and standard WebRTC.
